The Slingshot HPC Development Testbed is intended to provide bare-metal direct-access to a platform running HPE Slingshot and cluster software (e.g., HPCM). While the TDS of a production system is intended to provide some of this function, ALCF TDSes are often busy with application testing and system imaging that is dependent on stable cluster and fabric operation. Furthermore, user access to ALCF Slingshot fabrics is not permitted. This testbed allows for research that is otherwise too experimental and disruptive on deployed HPC resources.
