Objective:  To maximize the performance of large-scale disk-to-disk data transfers utilizing the knowledge about the storage hierarchy and data placement logic at various layers. Utilizing the petrel testbed at JLSE to research and develop storage-aware data movement techniques.
Testbed:  Petrel testbed has 32 GridFTP servers co-located with GPFS file servers and a management node. Using 10 GridFTP servers and the management node for our storage-aware data transfer project.
