Description: We will perform analytical and simulation studies to understand the tradeoffs in building a dedicated on-demand analysis facility for a domain versus adding the resources to supercomputers and sharing them with batch jobs. Specifically, we use mathematical programming to study the optimal resource distribution. Since the mathematical model has some limitation in terms of feasibility, we then use simulation to choose the most feasible solution.
